Happy New Year

We had an early New Year celebration with the boys before they went to bed. We launched some fireworks and Tim and Logan had fun with sparklers.

This robot arrived today by post, so it was a little belated Christmas present for the boys. They really liked it and are pretty excited to get reactions from him. :)

Fossil

Today, we visited the natural history museum in Frankfurt.

This picture is a fossil of a flying dinosaur. The boys really enjoyed the visit and all the dinosaurs fossils.

Best Christmas present ever :)

This is what Tim got me for Christmas: the iRobot Roomba vacuum cleaner. You can see it in action here, cleaning the floor of our dining room as we tested it for the first time this afternoon. Notice the little green light next to the "Clean" button ;)

This is what the boys made with the leftovers from the Christmas cake preparations. They were free to decorate it as they wanted and this is how it came out. :)

My first attempt at doing a complicated cake. I baked the cake on the 23rd evening and it took me most of the 24th to do the filling, icing and the decoration.

Stuck

Connor got his arm stuck in a toy today, trying to pick up a ball. It took a good 20 mins to open the toy to release his arm/hand.

Weekly weigh in - Week 15

This week's weigh in is not brilliant to say the least. Not surprising, I did not exercise and there are quite a few Christmas goodies in the house. I'm not expecting next week's to be much better to be honest with Christmas. Well, the new year will be the opportunity for a new start.

Weight is a weird thing...

The title says it all! Tuesdays are my weigh in days, so I weighed yesterday. It wasn't great so, out of curiosity, I weighed again today. Well, would you believe it, in 1 day I have gone down 600g! How weird is that?

Weight really does fluctuate so much from one day to another, that is pretty amazing. I guess that's why they always recommend to weigh once a week at most... Guess I should follow that advice.

This tree is at our local playground, it was the first time today that I noticed its funny shape!

Gingerbread house

Making a gingerbread house was the activity planned today by the boys' advent calendar. It was a first in this house, the boys had fun putting the decorations on the house.

Nikolaus Fest at Kindergarten

Friday night was the Nikolaus Fest at the boys school. We knew they were preparing some show but we didn't really know what. All I was told by their teachers is that they both needed to be dressed entirely in brown.

Before the show, they enjoyed cakes, biscuits, etc... :)
