Morning dew

I walked out in the garden this morning with the aim to take close-up pictures of these huge mushrooms that have been growing on a tree stump in our garden for the last week or so. After I was done with the mushrooms, I walked through the garden to see what else I could photograph. Everything was so pretty with the morning dew... I took pictures of leaves, flowers, bugs, slugs but finally settled my choice on this flower. I'm not sure why, but there is something I particularly like about this one. :)

Just came back to edit because I think I finally figured out why I like this shot so much. There is such a strong outline to the petals with the darker colour that it just makes the flower stand out so much. It just looks like it's been put there on the background.

Some randoms pics of the last few days

Anticipation

OK, now that I've put my fitness goals in writing and posted them here there is no turning back! The new "healthy me" is starting tomorrow and I'm divided between excitement and fear. Excitement to get started again and get fit, lose weight... Yet, fear to give up once more.

I know the accountability will help me, so I will report here on my progress - or lack thereof. Even if I'm the only one to read, I cannot know for sure and it will help me to think that someone knows if I "haven't been good". Weird, right? LOL

Anyways, wish me luck! :)

My baby's eyes

Just because they are beautiful! :D

Fitness goals

Because I've been slacking so much with exercise (and good diet), I really, really need to get back on track.

So, as of Monday, I will start exercising again.

Here are my goals - In brackets my current progress, I will update after each session.

Until the end of September:
Running - 7 times (1/7)
Aerobic/Strength exercise - 3 times (3/3)

October and November:
Running - 25 times (0/25)
Aerobic/Strength exercise - 17 times (0/17)

December:
Running - 14 times (0/14)
Aerobic/Strength exercise - 9 times (0/9)

What do you want with me?

Taken this morning as the boys were getting ready to go to school. This is Logan's typical face when I'm trying to get pictures of him and he has no interest! LOL

Scary Mr. Frog

Mr. Frog is mine. I got him for my 30th birthday. I always thought he was pretty cute and funny (and huge!). Well, that was until two nights ago. At 3:30 in the morning, Connor woke up, screaming for me to come. When I got to him, he told me he was scared of the frog. Mr. Frog had been in Connor and Logan's bedroom for months, possibly more. So, I took Mr. Frog away from their room but there was no way he wanted to stay in his room, so I stayed in bed with him. I thought that was it until last night. He went to bed without fuss until I left the room. He started screaming immediately saying he was afraid of the frog! So, Tim went to pick up Mr. Frog who was in another room upstairs and got Connor to throw him down the stairs. That made him laugh and, after that, he went to bed without fuss. Until 6:00 am when he woke up again screaming that he was afraid of the frog! :( I think tonight we are going to show him that we are putting Mr. Frog out of the house!

Emerald

A group of my online friends has decided to start a "one picture a day" challenge starting today. Here is my first picture.

I love this ring. I've always loved emeralds and have always wanted a square cut emerald as long as I can remember. It is Art Deco period, with two baguette cut diamonds on each side and just beautiful.

Connor started school!

Two weeks ago, Connor started preschool. He had been sooo eager to start! Logan has been going to this same school for a year and Connor was going there every day with the nanny to pick him up, so he knew the place very well and always liked it there.

Here are a few pictures of his first day.

Before leaving home, showing off with his new rucksack

Running there with Logan

Entering his classroom, he is in the Green Group (Logan is in the red, just next door)

Checking out the fish tank

This is how we left him, putting cake pieces in plates and setting the table with them.

He did really well on his first day. Apparently, he had one crying episode in the morning. Logan who was next door heard him and rushed to cuddle him! Logan took his big brother duty very seriously and really looked after his little brother during the first few days. Connor did have pee accidents 4 of the 5 days the first week, but he was back to normal last week with no accident. I think he has settled in nicely and really loves it there. How fun!
